Yield: 10 Servings (15 oz. each)
A big plate of crispy fries loaded with tender strips of steak, roasted peppers and onions, and topped with scratch-made cheese sauce. Who needs a sandwich when you can eat your Cheesesteak this way?
Preparation Instructions:
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Toss the thinly shaved meat with the marinade ingredients. Allow the beef to marinate for 1-2 hours before using.
Step 2
Melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in the flour and simmer for a minute. Add the milk to the roux and whisk until smooth. Continue cooking over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Add the cheese and season with salt and pepper, whisk until smooth. Reserve warm.
Step 3
For each serving; heat 1 tsp olive oil in a large skillet or on a pre-heated griddle. Add 2 1/2 oz. of peppers and onions. Cook over moderate heat stirring occasionally, about 2 minutes. Add 4 1/2 oz. of steak and cook, stirring occasionally until just cooked through. Prepare 10 oz. of the french fries according to the package directions. Transfer to a warm plate and top with the steak mixture, 2 oz. of the cheese sauce and 1/2 oz. of french fried onions.
